Short Term GoalsWhat are realistic short term goals for integrating technology into core curriculum?
- Technology team collabortation to develop a framework for school based technology integration
- Joyce and Rebecca will begin developing digital storytelling units as a model for intergrating technology.
- Technology team will partner up with classroom teachers to implement technology theme based projects (working towards creating a model classroom for other classroom teachers to aspire)
- To equip teachers with the necessary skills to implement technology effectively.
Long Term Goals
What are realistic long term goals for integrating technology into core curriculum?
Goal 1: Work with school administration and selected teachers (technology committee) to assess technology and build school-wide technology plan. This team will also determine how technology and PD is used and distributed throughout school
Goal 2: Work with a series of teachers to develop and implement goals and objectives for integrating technology into the classroom. Teachers will assess their integration knowledge and skills through intervisitation and debriefing sessions. They will base their work on the TPCK Framework (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge)
Goal 3: Develop two model classrooms that reflect best uses of technology within curriculum area, specifically related to the roll-out of Editure's Mysuite package.
Stakeholders
How do we get stakeholders to buy into the school technology plan?
1) Work with a series of pilot groups as a way to explore the value of integrating technology into the classroom. These teachers will be supported by providing them with exemplars of quality instruction models, user friendly instructional resources, extensive professional development related to the integration of technology into the curriculum, and access to technology.
extensive professional development, access to comptuers
2) Invite teachers and administration to participate in and/or observe various student technology projects to excite them in the transformative process so they develop a vested interest in how the plan evolves and unfolds. The Tech Team will keep the stakeholders informed about technology integration, progress and possibilities through monthly newsletters and an online blog/wiki of the latest classroom projects and assignments, meeting minutes, etc.
3)
Assessment
How is a student’s technology fluency measured?
The technology team, along with the support of the administrative team will develop diagnostic assessments for all students to determine their level of proficiency in the various goal areas:
1) software and hardware knowledge
2) research skills
3) critical thinking and ethical use of technology.
These assessments will be used to design technology projects and assignments and their summative assessments for the various technology areas. The student results will inform subsequent assignments and projects in the area of technology.
